Buckaroo School Fee Payment Integration

Enterprise EditionPayment Processing

Collect school fees in the Netherlands and Belgium — iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA Direct Debit, and Klarna via Buckaroo

Overview

Buckaroo is one of the Netherlands' leading payment service providers, serving thousands of Dutch and Belgian businesses. For private schools, international schools, and tutoring centres in the Netherlands and Belgium, Buckaroo offers the full local payment stack: iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA Direct Debit, Klarna, and international cards — all within a single integration trusted by Dutch payment professionals. Buckaroo's SEPA Direct Debit capability is particularly well-suited for Dutch schools collecting monthly or quarterly fees. Configure a SEPA mandate once per family in OpenEduCat, and Buckaroo handles the automatic collection each billing cycle. Dutch parents are highly comfortable with automatic direct debit (automatische incasso) — it is the standard method for subscription and recurring payments in the Netherlands. For independent schools and tutoring businesses, Buckaroo's subscription management features integrate with OpenEduCat's fee schedules to automate monthly collection without manual invoice follow-up.

Key Capabilities

iDEAL

Netherlands' dominant bank payment method. Direct integration with all Dutch banks. Instant confirmation, no chargebacks.

Bancontact

Belgian national debit card scheme. Required for institutions serving Belgian families.

SEPA Direct Debit

Automatic bank debit across the Eurozone. Set up a mandate once per family; Buckaroo collects each installment automatically on schedule.

Klarna

Buy now, pay later in 3 or 4 instalments. Available for Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and other EU countries.

Cards

Visa, Mastercard, and Amex from all countries. 3D Secure v2 included for PSD2 compliance.

Afterpay (NL/BE)

Buckaroo connects to Afterpay (now Riverty) for buy-now-pay-later in Netherlands and Belgium — another popular BNPL option in the Benelux market.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both are excellent for Dutch schools. Mollie is developer-first with no monthly fees and a simple API — better for smaller schools or those building their own integration. Buckaroo offers stronger subscription management, SEPA Direct Debit tooling, and longer Dutch market history — better for schools with complex recurring billing needs or existing Buckaroo relationships through their bank.
