A bilingual diploma is awarded when a student scores 3+ in two Group 1 (Studies in Language and Literature) subjects in different languages, or scores 3+ in a Group 1 subject plus 3+ in a Group 3/4 subject taken in a different language. OpenEduCat evaluates these criteria automatically and flags bilingual diploma eligibility on the student record.

How is CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) recorded?

CAS is a diploma requirement but carries no points. OpenEduCat stores CAS as a completion status field (Complete / Incomplete / In Progress) attached to the student record. CAS status appears on the transcript alongside academic scores. The diploma cannot be awarded if CAS is Incomplete.

How does IB GPA weighting work alongside AP and Honors courses?

IB HL (Higher Level) courses receive a +1.0 weighted GPA bonus by default; IB SL (Standard Level) courses receive +0.5. These can be configured per school policy. The weighted GPA and unweighted GPA are both maintained in real time. Students taking a mix of IB and AP courses see a single unified transcript with all weight bonuses correctly applied.
