CGPA is the arithmetic mean of grade points earned in the best five academic subjects. If a student scores A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 in six subjects, the best five are A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 (10+9+8+7+6 = 40 ÷ 5 = CGPA 8.0). The indicative percentage equivalent is 8.0 × 9.5 = 76%.
