Australia University Transcript
An Australian academic transcript records every unit with credit points, a percentage mark, and a grade band (HD, D, C, P, or F). The overall GPA and WAM summarise academic performance. TEQSA-registered universities also issue an AHEGS (Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement) at graduation, the Australian equivalent of the Bologna Diploma Supplement, and deliver official documents through the My eQuals digital platform.

The AHEGS: Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement
The AHEGS is co-issued with the degree certificate. It adds context that the transcript alone does not provide, learning outcomes, grade distribution, and co-curricular achievements.
Programme description
Full title of the AQF qualification, major/specialisation, credit points completed, and mode of study (full-time/part-time/online).
Academic results summary
GPA, WAM, and credit point total drawn from the academic transcript. Grade distribution chart showing the percentage of students in each grade band for the graduating cohort.
Learning outcomes
Specific graduate attributes and AQF level descriptors for the programme, showing what knowledge, skills, and application abilities the graduate has demonstrated.
Additional achievements
Academic prizes, Dean's commendation, scholarships, study abroad exchanges, work-integrated learning (WIL), and university leadership roles.
Certification
Co-signed by the Vice-Chancellor (or delegate) and the student. The AHEGS is legally part of the degree documentation and cannot be altered after issue.
How to Request an Australian Transcript
Four steps from student portal to certified official delivery via My eQuals.
Log in to your student portal
Most Australian universities use platforms such as My Academic Record (ANU), SIMS (Melbourne), MySI-net (QUT), or the generic student portal. Search for "Academic Transcript" or "Official Records" in the portal menu.
Select delivery via My eQuals
Over 90 Australian universities are members of the My eQuals platform (operated by Digitary). My eQuals delivers certified electronic transcripts that include a tamper-evident digital signature. Recipients verify the document at myequals.edu.au without contacting the institution.
Pay the fee and confirm delivery details
Fees are typically AUD $10–30 per official transcript. Electronic delivery via My eQuals is usually the lowest-cost option. Paper transcripts are posted in a sealed envelope. Express processing (1–2 days) is available at most institutions for an additional fee.
Request AHEGS separately if required
The AHEGS is issued at graduation alongside the degree certificate. Graduates who need an additional copy request it through the alumni or graduation office. AHEGS is also available via My eQuals at institutions that have enabled digital AHEGS delivery.
How OpenEduCat Generates Australian Transcripts
The Australia module pre-configures HD/D/C/P/F grades, WAM, GPA, and AHEGS data, generating official transcripts directly from published gradebook data.
HD/D/C/P/F grade scale pre-configured
The Australia module includes the standard 5-band grade scale (High Distinction to Fail) with percentage thresholds and 4.0 and 7.0 GPA point equivalents. Transcripts print the grade band label and the percentage mark for each unit.
WAM and GPA auto-calculated
WAM (credit-point weighted average of all percentage marks) and GPA (credit-point weighted average of grade points) are calculated automatically when grades are published. Both metrics appear on the academic performance summary section of the transcript.
My eQuals compatible digital output
Transcripts are generated in PDF format with embedded metadata compatible with My eQuals submission requirements. The digital signature chain required for My eQuals verification can be applied at the institution level through the registrar's office.
AHEGS data fields included
The graduation record stores all data required for AHEGS generation: programme learning outcomes, grade distribution, additional achievements, and AQF qualification level, ready for export to the AHEGS document at graduation.
