College Management System in Chile
An open-source college management platform built for Chilean universidades, institutos profesionales and CFT — es-CL Spanish UI, MINEDUC and SIES reporting, PAES admissions integration, CLP billing via Webpay and Khipu, and CNA accreditation-ready reports.
A college management system in Chile is academic-administration software adapted to the specific shape of Chilean higher education: an es-CL Spanish interface, reporting formats expected by MINEDUC and the Servicio de Informacion de Educacion Superior (SIES), admissions flows wired to PAES (the Prueba de Acceso a la Educacion Superior that replaced the PSU in 2022), CLP billing with Webpay and Khipu, integration with the Sistema de Gratuidad for low-income students, and accreditation-ready reports for the Comision Nacional de Acreditacion (CNA). It has to fit the three institutional tiers Chile actually has — universidades (privadas like PUC and UAndes plus estatales like Universidad de Chile and USACH), institutos profesionales, and Centros de Formacion Tecnica (CFT) — across campuses in Santiago, Valparaiso and Concepcion, and respect Ley 19.628 on the protection of private life and personal data.

es-CL Chilean Spanish UI
The whole interface — student portal, docente dashboard, admin back office, transactional emails — ships in Chilean Spanish, not a generic LatAm translation. Date formats follow dd/mm/aaaa, currency renders as $ CLP without decimals, and academic vocabulary matches local usage: carrera, malla curricular, ramo, semestre, certificado de alumno regular, NEM, ranking de notas. Internal roles map to how Chilean institutions are actually structured — Vicerrectoria Academica, Direccion de Pregrado, Direccion de Asuntos Estudiantiles.
MINEDUC and SIES reporting
Pre-built report templates aligned with the SIES (Servicio de Informacion de Educacion Superior) data submissions MINEDUC requires from every institution every year: matricula por carrera and cohorte, titulados, retencion de primer ano, dotacion academica with jornada (completa, media, parcial), and indicadores de calidad. CSV exports match the column structure SIES evaluators expect, so direcciones de analisis institucional stop hand-stitching Excels each reporting window.
PAES admissions integration
Native admissions flows wired to PAES — the Prueba de Acceso a la Educacion Superior administered by DEMRE since 2022, when it replaced the PSU. The platform ingests PAES scores (Competencia Lectora, Competencia Matematica M1 and M2, Ciencias, Historia), combines them with NEM and ranking de notas using the institution's own ponderaciones per carrera, and produces ranked admissions lists. It supports vias de admision especiales (PACE, BEA, cupo deportivo) alongside the regular selection process and exports admission decisions in the format the Sistema Unico de Admision expects.
CLP billing with Webpay and Khipu
Native CLP pricing with Webpay (Transbank) checkout — the default Chilean payment rail — plus Khipu for bank-transfer flows, and traditional transferencia electronica via CuentaRUT or current accounts with automatic conciliacion. Aranceles, matriculas, and recargos por mora respect Chilean conventions (no decimals on CLP, UF-indexed pricing supported for institutions that quote in UF), and boletas electronicas follow the SII format.
Sistema de Gratuidad integration
The Sistema de Gratuidad covers tuition for students from the lower-income deciles at participating institutions, with MINEDUC reimbursing the arancel regulado rather than the institutional arancel. The platform tags students by gratuidad eligibility, splits billing between the State portion and the residual differencial the student or family owes, and produces the reimbursement files MINEDUC asks for. It also handles parallel beneficios — Beca Bicentenario, Beca Juan Gomez Millas, CAE — without forcing the secretaria de finanzas to track them in side spreadsheets.
CNA accreditation reporting
The Comision Nacional de Acreditacion (CNA) accredits institutions and selected carreras on cycles that determine state funding eligibility and student-benefit access. OpenEduCat keeps the underlying data CNA evaluators ask for ready year-round — retencion, titulacion oportuna, empleabilidad, dotacion academica, investigacion y vinculacion con el medio metrics, and self-evaluation tables broken out by area de acreditacion. When the autoevaluacion cycle opens, direccion de aseguramiento de la calidad pulls a CNA-shaped report instead of rebuilding it from raw exports.
