There is no hard limit. In practice, teachers generate between 10 and 50 questions per batch — enough for a full practice quiz from a chapter in one pass. If you need more, run multiple batches and combine them in the quiz editor. The constraint worth planning for is review time: every question should get a teacher's eyes before students see it.

Can I generate quizzes from uploaded PDFs or documents?

Yes. You can upload PDFs, Word documents, or plain text files as source material. You can also point the generator at course content already stored in OpenEduCat, lecture notes, slides, or assigned readings. The AI reads the content and creates questions based on what it finds.

Can it produce multiple versions of the same quiz?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The generator can draft multiple parallel versions of the same quiz. Each version covers the same concepts at the same difficulty level, but uses different question stems, different distractors, and different ordering. Within each version, questions and answer choices can be randomized per student. Instructors decide how and where the versions are used.

Are the generated questions accurate?

The AI generates questions from the source material you provide, which keeps accuracy high. That said, we strongly recommend faculty review every generated question before publishing. The tool is a first-draft accelerator, not a replacement for subject matter expertise. Edit, delete, or rewrite any question that does not meet your standards.

Do AI-generated quizzes affect student grades?

No — not on their own. Generated quizzes run as formative practice: students get immediate self-check feedback on practice questions, but nothing the AI touches ever writes to the gradebook. If a teacher wants generated questions to count toward a grade, they move those questions into a regular assessment through the standard workflow, and marking follows the same teacher-controlled process as any other assessment. AI drafts; teachers grade.

Can I control the difficulty level?

You can set the Bloom's taxonomy distribution when generating questions. For an introductory quiz, you might request 50% Knowledge and 30% Comprehension. For a final exam, shift toward 30% Analysis and 20% Evaluation. The generator matches your distribution across the question set.

What AI models are supported?

Accepted Answer

OpenEduCat uses Bring Your Own Model (BYOM). Connect the AI endpoint your institution already governs — Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, or another compatible provider. Your IT team controls the endpoint, guardrails, and spending budgets. All data stays between your OpenEduCat instance and that endpoint, and every generation is audit-logged.
