How is this different from a per-student fee bill or challan?

A fee structure is the price list. A fee bill or challan is a single payment slip raised against one specific student. This tool is intentionally limited to the price list: rows for fee particulars, columns for classes or programmes, totals, and an optional installment plan. There is no student name, roll number, or admission number field anywhere, because a fee structure is published for the whole institution, not personalised per student. For student-level billing, schools usually issue challans from their ERP after the structure is approved by the management.

How many rows and columns can I add to the matrix?

The matrix starts at five rows of fee particulars and four classes, which covers most primary school or single-programme college use cases. Use the Add row button to extend the structure to ten, fifteen, or more particulars (common categories are tuition, lab, library, transport, hostel, exam fee, sports, ID card, building fund, computer fee, smart-class fee, and annual day). Use the Add column button to extend across as many classes or programmes as you need, for example Class 1 through Class 12, or B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., and BBA. The totals row and totals column recalculate live as you edit.

How do installment plans work in this tool?

Once your matrix totals are correct, open the installment plan panel and choose one, two, three, or four installments. The default is equal split: a four-installment annual fee of ₹40,000 becomes four payments of ₹10,000. If your school uses a custom split (for example 40 percent at admission, 30 percent in the second term, 30 percent in the third term), switch to custom mode and enter the percentages directly. The tool validates that the percentages add to 100 and shows the rupee or dollar value of each installment for every class column, ready to print on your fee circular.

Which currencies are supported?

Indian Rupee (INR, ₹) is the default because most users of this builder are Indian schools and colleges publishing a class-wise fee structure for CBSE, ICSE, or state board admissions. You can switch to US Dollar (USD, $), Euro (EUR, €), or British Pound (GBP, £) from the currency dropdown above the matrix. The selected symbol is applied to every cell, the totals row, the totals column, and the installment plan output. All calculations happen in the browser, so you can switch currencies as many times as you need without losing your data, and nothing is sent to any server.

Can I export the structure to CSV or print it?

Yes. The Export CSV button downloads the entire matrix (particulars, every class column, the totals row, and the totals column) as a standard comma-separated file you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice Calc. From there you can add your school header, logo, and regulatory disclosures before publishing. The Print button opens the browser print dialog and renders a clean, single-page layout of the table plus any active installment plan, with the surrounding website chrome hidden by print CSS. Most schools print the structure on letterhead and post a copy on the admission notice board on the day applications open.

Is anything saved on a server? Is this tool free?

Nothing is sent to a server. Every keystroke, every cell value, and every export happens in your browser. Close the tab and the data is gone.
